Beginner Bargello Quilting

Every quilter, modern or traditionalist, has either made a bargello pattern or has one on their list of future projects to make. It’s essentially strip piecing, a beginner technique learned early on, but with fabrics and colors strategically placed so the results are a design in motion. Unlike scrappy patchwork, bargello starts and follows a plan – one fabric misplaced can spoil the effect, but the organized approach is well worth it. Bargello can be multi-colored or varying shades from the same family, but every quilt is bold and eye-catching, and bargello will forever be part of the quilting landscape.
