This pattern has 5 pages of easy to follow direction with 43 diagrams for each step. The bag is 14"x7"x2"to 2.5". The pattern has 3 different base sizes to choose from depending how wide you want the bottom of the bag. This bag was inspired by needing a bag just for holding my rulers. It fits my 12"x6" ruler and my 6"x6.5" ruler, these are the ones I use the most along with my many smaller rulers. The bag has a zipper pocket on the inside with easy to follow directions and diagrams on how to sew it. The pocket is about 8" wide by 5" deep. The way I sew the top zipper allows you to open up the bag really wide so you can easily see and get inside the bag. The wider cut out bottom holds more than just rulers it can hold a rotary cutter and a few small notions. The narrower base bottom holds the rulers snugly together and is flatter. The 2 handles that are sewn into the bag make it sturdy and strong to hold. You can add buttons or grommets to the handles to make them stand up. The bag is so cute you can even make it into a purse. I have made the bag in quilting cotton, canvas, canvas linen blend and even a light weight denim, and they all turned out beautiful. Add a small applique or stitchery to make it your own. I don't go sewing with out my ruler bag.

I have included diagrams of how to cut your ByAnnie vinyl and a 1-Yard cut of Pellon Flex-Foam 2- sided fusible to make all 5 bags. There are 5 sizes: Large: 14.5"x16.5", Medium: 11"x13", and the Small: 9"x11", These 3 sizes have handles. The smaller sizes are for holding smaller notions or EPP are Mini Cube: 8"x8" and Mini: 5.5"x9" and these do not have a handle. They can slip into the larger project bags because they are flat. The front and back fabrics are fused and quilted together for a sturdier project bag. I give tips on sewing with vinyl and give you two different ways to finish the binding, sew down by hand or with your sewing machine. Once you make one you are going to want to make them in every size. I used a canvas linen blend fabric for a bag because it gave it more structure but you can also use quilting cotton too.

The fabric is what makes the bags whether you like modern fabric or country primitive fabric, they all look great. The pattern has directions to making the fabric handles or use cotton webbing handles. It also has cotton cording to cinch the top of the bags closed. The 2 stabilizers used are Pellon SF101 and Pellon 987F Fusible fleece. This is also a great pattern to kit up. The medium bag can be sewn with 4 fat quarters or 1/4- yard cuts and the lining can be 2 fat quarters or 1/2- yard cut along with the stabilizers. The larger kit bag is the same, but you just need a little more than a fat quarter for the top closer fabric. 10" WOF or 3/8-yard cut. The pattern is fast and easy and once you make one you are going to want to make them in both sizes.
